"30 under 30”

Jantus's painting hanged in a Chelsea, New York’s white wall.

26 February – 23 March 2019

Chelsea, New York

Fluxus, acrylic on canvas, 100x70 cm, 2016

Jantus (Marcos Gonzalez Cutre) an Argentinian painter and Amuleto artist, is being exhibited in New York for the first time, among a group of young artists in the hope of portraying the emotions and thoughts of the sensible contemporary youth.

Confusingly abstract, his paintings would recommend a figure to be thought of, but it is more than that. Jantus is a maker, the creator of a universe tensed by contrasts and heavily shaped brushstrokes.

Abstraction in the new century would seem to seek for an introspective expression released in a joyful and optimistic way in comparison to the old Art Brut, Abstract Expressionism or Formalism painters from where Jantus himself was inspired from.
